Membership
Brotherhood is the spirit of friendship. It implies respect, honesty
and dependability. It means that we overlook differences and emphasize
similarities as we join together in unselfish service. It means listening
to Brothers whose views on issues might differ from our own. It means
working closely with people whom under other circumstances we might
not choose as our friends. Nu Rho's Membership and Social Programs
keep you coming back for more!
Once you've become a Brother, life is sweet! You have to complete
a series of requirements in order to stay active, but nothing like
pledging, which was fun anyway. If you have a busy semester, you
can choose to go Associate, but you can only do that once.
Pledging APO is probably one of the most enriching experiences APO has to offer--not to say that it all goes downhill from there, but all of the events Pledge Staff plans for you are incredibly fun...Pledging typically takes place over 10 weeks in the fall, but sometimes we have spring pedge classes! If you're worried about it being a big deal, don't be. Pledge Staff will work with you, and if you absolutely can't make one of the requirements, there's bound to be some reasonable alternative. But yeah, the requirements aren't that big a deal, and they're fun. 200 people can't be wrong, right?
- 25 Service hours from at least two different projects
- Must include two weekend escort shifts
- Attendance at at least half of the Brothers' meetings
- Committee Credit from a member of Exec Board
- $45.00 in dues per semester
- You will be put on probation if you
do not complete requirements
- To get off probation, you must send a letter of intent to the Exec Board within two weeks of being notified of your probation status. Then complete the make-up requirements described in probation letter
Not so bad, huh? And, if you choose to join APO Nu Rho, not only do you get to do service to humanity and meet a lot of awesome people, you get...
